A Manassas resident and his brother have been charged in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred in Warrenton, Fauquier County. The incident, which resulted in one death, took place on Sunday, June 9, according to a report from Patch Manassas.
Fauquier County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a home on West Shirley Avenue in Warrenton following reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, law enforcement found 50-year-old Jeffrey Smith suffering from stab wounds. Smith was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation led authorities to identify 25-year-old Brandon Christopher White of Manassas and his 29-year-old brother, Patrick Edward White of Sterling, as individuals involved in the incident. Both men were arrested and are currently being held without bond at the Fauquier County Adult Detention Center.
Brandon White faces charges of felony accessory after the fact, while Patrick White has been charged with misdemeanor obstruction of justice. According to the report, neither individual is presently accused of a violent offense directly related to the stabbing itself. The investigation remains ongoing as law enforcement officials continue to gather information regarding the circumstances of the fatal event.
