A 19-year-old Manassas resident has been charged in connection with a shooting that occurred on Tuesday night, stemming from an argument after a sale, according to Prince William County police.
Oscar Ivan Meijia Bonilla, of Manassas, faces multiple charges following the incident. Authorities stated that the shooting took place around 8:45 p.m. in the parking lot of the Bloom at Manassas apartment complex, located in the 8000 block of Ligonridge Lane. The victim, also a teenager, sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Investigators determined that the shooting arose from a dispute that escalated after a transaction between Bonilla and the victim. Following the argument, Bonilla allegedly shot the victim before fleeing the scene. Police were able to identify Bonilla as a suspect and located him subsequently.
Bonilla has been charged with aggravated malicious wounding, shooting into an occupied dwelling, and using a firearm in the commission of a felony. He is currently being held without bond at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center.
